How I Was Raped By A Police Officer

A Woman identified as Gladys in one of the town in Lagos state, has shared a sad experience on how she was allegedly raped by a Nigerian security officer after visiting her son in prison.

She said she'd left her residence in Ikorodu, to visit her son in Kirikiri prison upon hearing that he's arrested.

The 20-year-old son had been convicted of murder at the State High Court.

She further said she couldn't return home later that night so she decided to stay at the police barracks, believing it is a safe place to spend the night.

She stated that she had requested permission from the police to sleep at the barracks and return home the following morning. However, during the night, an officer snuck into her room after she was allowed to stay.

The police officer, who was later identified and arrested, entered the room where Gladys was sleeping, handcuffed her hands to the bed, and allegedly raped her forcefully. When she tried to raise an alarm, he reportedly threatened her, claiming that no one would hear her no matter how loud she screamed.

According to Gladys, the officer sexually assaulted her twice and inflicted injuries to her genital area. She tearfully pleaded for justice, urging the police to arrest the officer and ensure he faces the consequences of his actions.

He said late Nnadi did not allow him to have peace as he continued preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to him even when he knew they were not of the same faith.

“My name is Jane, I work in the Banking industry. Am in my thirties and going through a difficult and tough marriage cramps.

I was married to my husband a virgin. I never experienced any other man's emotions but him not until I was raped.

Am a novice, I know nothing about orgasm, climax or any sexual related experience.

I have been married for eight years with a miserable sex life. We are blessed with two kids.

“It happened on the very day we travelled to my husband's village during Easter period.

While asleep, around 1 am in the our our house was raided by armed robbers a 7 member gangs.

“It was a terrifying experience, after collecting all our valuables at home, the leader turned and enveloped my body with his eyes.

The leader tied my husband to a chair, tore my clothes and went on to show me his manhood that he will use it on me

“I was frightened, i begged him and cried but all to no avail.

It was a rape that cost me my marriage. As the guy was entering me, I was supposed to feel pains but that wasn’t so.

I felt a kind of sweet sensational moist that I have never felt in my whole life.

I never knew I screamed oh my God, as he starts to pound me I never knew I was holding him hard and begging him not to stop, I was enjoying being raped by a criminal. O my Goodness!!!

The robber took me two rounds which I came both times. I don’t know what happened, but all I can say is that I haven’t had such in a long time even with my husband.

My husband gave me the beatings of my life afterwards.

‘He called me unprintable names, a prostitute, Ashawo etc.

He can’t marry an Ashawo. i was hospitalized for two weeks as a result of that incident and his beatings.

“My husband left me at the hospital and travelled back to our home. I was beating to a coma and helpless.

What was responsible for me enjoying being raped and even Cuming as a result of it?

“How could i even enjoy such act of cruelty on my body?

These were the question i kept asking myself.

When i got discharged i met divorce papers waiting for me to sign.

I begged my husband, involved my parents but he swore not to let go

BREAKING: Police Arrest Funke Akindele

The Police in Lagos have arrested Funke Akindele a.k.a Jenifer for allegedly hosting an in-house birthday party in contravention to the lockdown order in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, told The PUNCH that the award winning actress had been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba.

He told reporters, “Yes, we have taken Funke Akindele into custody and we are looking for the others.”

It was gathered that policemen arrived in Amen Estate off Lekk-Epe Expressway in about three patrol vehicles.

Akindele, popularly known as Jenifa, who is married to singer, Abdulrasheed Bello aka JJC Skillz, held a party in his honour on Saturday.

Singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, also graced the party, which had over 20 others in attendance.

Thousands of Nigerians on social media called for the arrest Funke Akindele, popularly called ‘Jenifa’.

The actress, who is said to be an ambassador for the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control and Dettol, has appeared in adverts calling on Nigerians to observe social distancing and hygiene.

She later apologised over the incident, saying most of those who attended the party were colleagues, who were living temporarily within the estate and could not return to their home states because of the lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lagos Infection Diseases Regulations 2020 (the Regulations) prescribes a jail term of one month or N100,000 fine or both for persons found guilty of hosting gatherings or flouting the lockdown order.

Why I didn't Run - Uka Who Was Molested

The lady who was severely beaten up by her boyfriend in a video that went viral on the internet a while back, has finally spoken up.

The said lady gave the narrative of how the assault happened and why she stayed put and took the beatings.

After investigation, the identities of the boyfriend and his friends were revealed – the victim has now been identified as Dooshima Ella Terwase.

Ella said Moses Chiutar, aka Junior, a 100 level student, came back home from Caritas University, Enugu on Wednesday night, 18th March 2020, and asked to see her so they could resolve the issue about her being pregnant with his child.

Ella said she had exams to write so she turned down his invitation. However, Junior’s friend, Precious Blessing, aka Preshy Ibile, persuaded her to go and see Junior.

She paid Moses Chiutar Junior a visit on Friday, March 20, 2020, but refused to go inside the house. However, Junior insisted.

When she got in, she says Junior pulled a gun on her and used it to threaten her in the presence of his friends – Tosin, Blessing, Precious and Eskay.

Ella said Junior then confronted her on her claims that she conceived for him and the confrontation turned physical after Eskay advised Junior to beat her so as to teach her a lesson.

The victim said that while Junior was beating her, Tosin held her from behind at a point, allowing Junior to beat her more.

“I was afraid to tell mum,” She told activist Ukan P Kurugh who spoke with her and shared details of their conversation.

The video, which was recorded by Precious was transferred to Tosin and he posted it online that same Friday.

A day later, on Saturday, March 21, 2020, the video was already viral and Junior made a call to Ella, begging her to help protect him as people were calling for his head.

Ella, with the help of Ukan Kurugh, has gone to the police station to officially lodge a complaint.

Narrating the incident, Ukan Kurugh wrote:

Dooshima and Junior: What Actually Happened

Dooshima Ella Terwase, who was mercilessly beaten by her boyfriend Moses Chiutar a.k.a Junior (with Facebook account name: King Marret De Entertainer), is a final year secondary school student.

She told me that on Wednesday night, 18th March, 2020, Junior, who had come home from Caritas University Enugu, where he is undergoing studies called her to his house to resolve a dispute that brewed in the course of their relationship. She suspected that she had conceived for Junior.

According to Ella, she had exams to write and put off the visit till that fateful Friday, 20th March, 2020. Initially, Ella said she turned down the request but Junior’s friend Precious Blessing (Facebook name: Prëshy Ïbilë – it was Precious that recorded the video) persuaded her to come for settlement.

“So on Friday I went there. I sat outside and he (junior) invited me into the house that we should settle the matter before his mother comes back. I told him to tell me what he had for me but he insisted that I should come in.

“To avoid drawing attention, I went in with him. They were four – Junior, Tosin, Precious and the other guy – Eskay. While we were talking Precious was recording and was saying that see these people now talking as if they have no problem,” Ella narrated.

She explained that Junior would then pull a short gun on her but then reassured her that he was only frightening her. Suddenly, Junior’s countenance changed and he went physical on her.

Ella further said Eskay told Junior to beat her up so that she will learn and while Junior was beating her, it got to a point when Tosin held her from behind, allowing Junior the chance to beat her more and Precious would later open the door for her to run out.

Curiously, Junior’s trick to put fear into the teenager worked. Ella did not come home after the incident.

“I was afraid to tell Mum,” Ella said. Ella’s Dad is no more.

When asked how she came to know that the video was online, she said calls began coming in from her friends that they’ve seen her in a video online. “Some of my friends wanted to react but I told them not to put me into further problem.

“Yesterday (Saturday, 21st March, 2020), Junior called. He began calling till in the afternoon but I did not pick his calls. When I later picked, he was pleading that I should help to protect him,” Ella said.

According to her, Precious recorded the video, transferred it to Tosin, who first posted it (online).

Junior assaulted Ella for saying he is responsible for her condition (pregnancy)

Now, having identified Ella, we are heading to the Police to officially lodge a complaint.

We appreciate everyone that has provided useful information that enables us to get this far. FIDA has mandated two lawyers to follow up the matter. Very senior military and paramilitary officers have also indicated interest in the matter and we are grateful to all that have shown concern, one way or the other in this matter.

Junior, there is no more time. In your own interest, report yourself to the Police Station nearest to you. Failure to do so, we are coming after you and there is no hiding place for you. Report yourself to Police, alongside your friends.

Assistant Principal Accused of Raping 16-year-old Avoids Jail Term

Ste. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office

An assistant principal charged with raping a 16-year-old student in Missouri has avoided jail time by accepting an Alford plea, allowing her to assert innocence while acknowledging the evidence proves her guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

Elizabeth Giesler, who served as the assistant principal of Ste. Genievieve Middle school in eastern Missouri prior to the indictment, accepted the Alford plea earlier this week, according to court rather than serving jail time, Giesler reportedly agreed to serve two years probation, as well as voluntarily surrender her teacher’s license.

The 39-year-old assistant principal was charged with sexual contact with a student, statutory sodomy and statutory rape in 2018, The Kansas City Star reported.

The unidentified student told police about three sexual encounters he had with Giesler, including one reported instance at the assistant principal’s home when she performed oral sex on the child.

His father told local news channel KTV1 that Gielser acted as a mentor in the boy’s life.

“She talked to us about my son and stuff like this,” he said, “what she can do for him through life, you know, give him a better life.”

He added: “She was going to try to make sure he got on the right path.”

The middle school where Giesler was employed also told the news channel that she had been placed on leave pending the results of the investigation.

Ste. Genevieve County prosecuting attorney Wayne Williams defended the Alford plea in a statement to the Daily Journal, saying he considered her lack of a criminal record and how she would no longer be able to work in schools after surrendering her teacher’s license.

“Some people might not understand the bargain that was struck in this case unless they really understand what she had to give up voluntarily to get that bargain,” Mr Williams said.

He added: “That was basically her livelihood, and she had to surrender that.”

Critical’ Evidence Found For A Missing Girl

The three-day search for a missing 6-year-old South Carolina girl ended with her body being found in a wooded area and police piecing together clues that link her death to a 30-year-old neighbor.

"We can't find her," said Faye Marie Swetlik's distraught mother to 911 on Monday. Officials with the Cayce Department of Public Safety on Friday released the frantic mother's five-minute call to police an hour after her daughter went missing.

Sgt. Evan Antley said at a press conference that during the early stages of searching for Faye in the Churchill Heights area of Cayce, they talked to neighbors like Coty Scott Taylor and reviewed hours of video, but "felt we needed to go back to and look for more evidence."

19 Year Old Found Guilty Of Lying About Gang Rape

A 19-year old British woman, right, covers her face as she leaves from the Famagusta court after her trial - AP

British 19-year-old Derbyshire woman, whom The Telegraph has chosen not to identify, says she was raped by up to 12 Israeli men in her hotel room.

She later retracted the accusation after hours of questioning by police.

The teenager was convicted on Monday of the charge of “public mischief” by Famagusta district court in the nearby town of Paralimni.

In his ruling, Judge Michalis Papathanasiou said the defendant did not tell the truth and tried to deceive the court with "convenient" and "evasive" statements.

"She did not make a good impression on the court," he said. "She was never clear on what happened. She was not stating the truth and I reject the version she gave."

He delayed sentencing until January 7, when the woman could be ordered to pay a €1,700 (£1,500) fine and serve up to a year in prison.

The teenager, dressed in black with her blonde hair tied up, sighed in disbelief as the court’s translator relayed Judge Papathanasiou’s decision.

Around 25 protesters from the Network Against Violence Against Women sat in court with gags over their mouths showing an image of stitched-up lips.

As the defendant walked out of court in a blindfold to hide her identity, they shouted: "We are with you. We know. We believe you."

More than a dozen women from an association for the protection of women attended court wearing white scarves with an image of lips sewn shut printed on them. Credit: REX

The case has raised grave concerns for the safety of female tourists on the island, which attracts more than a million British holidaymakers each year.

The teenager reported the alleged rape to police hours after the alleged incident on July 17. Soon afterwards, the Israeli teenagers, who denied the allegations, were arrested.

Two weeks later the woman was questioned for eight hours by Cyprus police without a lawyer or family member present. During that time, she signed a statement of retraction saying she concocted the story.

The alleged gang rape took place in the party resort of Ayia Napa in Cyprus Credit: AFP

The prosecution claimed she had made up the story because she felt ashamed and humiliated after discovering that she had been filmed having sex with one of the Israelis.

Her lawyers claimed she was suffering from trauma after the alleged incident and made the statement to police under duress.

She was charged with causing public mischief, defined by the Cypriot criminal code as knowingly providing police with “a false statement concerning an imaginary offence”. She was arrested in August and had her passport confiscated.

The Israelis, aged 15 to 22, were allowed to return home to Tel Aviv, where they celebrated their release, shouting "the Brit is a whore" and popping champagne at Ben Gurion airport.

The woman, who has had to forego a place at university in the UK because of the trial proceedings, spent Christmas in Cyprus after she was refused permission to return home until after the verdict.

An Israeli teenager is embraced by relatives after being released from Famagusta police headquarters in southeast town of Paralimni, Cyprus, Credit: AP

Her lawyers tried to get the retraction statement thrown out as evidence. However, Judge Papathanasiou ruled that the questioning did not amount to undue pressure and her statement - which her defence team claimed did not appear to have been written by a native English speaker - was admissible.

The court heard how the men, who were not required to give evidence during the trial, had targeted the teenager and had bragged that they were going to “do orgies” with her.

She had chosen to give evidence in court to prove she was not lying after the judge branded her an “unreliable witness”.

She told the hearing earlier this month that she had initially agreed to have sex with one of the accused men, a man identified only as Sam, 21, who she met while working in Ayia Napa.

The teenager said his friends burst into the room and she shouted out "No."

“I said I am not doing that and told them all to go,” she said. “They left for a few seconds and Sam told me to lie on the bed and he got on his knees and put them on my shoulders,” she continued.

She described being pinned down and raped multiple times by different members of the group.

“I tried to cross my legs. I was trying to throw my arms about,” she told the court. “I don’t know how many of them raped me. I couldn’t see.”

Suspects cover their faces with their shirts as they arrive at the Famagusta courthouse in Paralamni, Cyprus, in July Credit: AP

The woman claims she then fled the hotel semi-naked to friends who took her to a medical clinic. She was examined by doctors before the police were called.

The handling of the case has been questioned by experts and has raised serious questions about the rigour of both the police and judiciary in investigating the woman’s allegation.

Marios Matsakis, a forensic pathologist, testified in court that he had found DNA traces from four men on the woman.

He claimed the rape kit exam presented in court as evidence was incomplete. ''There was no examination of the teenager's clothing which is surprising,” Mr Matsakis said.

“The woman was obviously in bad shape with a large number of external injuries, most of which were recent,” he added

Women rights activists stage a protest in support of a British teenager accused of falsely claiming she was raped by Israeli tourists.

Responding to the verdict, Nir Yaslovitzh, the lawyer representing the young men, said: "I applaud the court's decision to convict the girl. I hope that the court will find it appropriate to aggravate the punishment imposed on the girl who refuses to this day to take responsibility for the horrible act she has done against the boys."

Ritsa Pekri, the woman's defence counsel, asked the judge for leniency in sentencing on Monday, citing her age and "maturity" handling the pressure she had been under.

"She's been in prison for one month and in Cyprus, effectively as a prisoner, for five. She's lost her friends, her place at university, her social life. She now has psychological problems as a result of the incident. She should be allowed home to be treated."

Her mother has claimed her human rights had been violated. “We were told no one could interfere because it’s local judicial process, and I understand that, but I find it shocking that neither Europe, nor the embassy, nor our Government, feel able to make sure her rights are being observed.”

Women's rights groups and civil society organisations reacted with anger to the guilty verdict.

"This woman was not only raped by those 12 men, but raped by the state, by society and by the media here," protester Maria Mappouridou told The Telegraph outside the court.

"Police in Cyprus always find a reason not to believe women who claimed they have been raped, many of us here today have experienced it. It's like Cyprus is 100 years behind on this, it's hard to believe we're fighting this in 2019 in an EU country."

Equality Now, an international women's rights organisation that campaigns on failings in laws relating to sexual violence, said there needed to be an investigation into how the teenager was treated by the Cypriot police on the night she signed her retraction statement.

"The teenager’s court testimony about being gang-raped and her subsequent treatment by state authorities, alongside the supporting evidence provided by expert witnesses for the defence, clearly expose the need for a comprehensive investigation into the night in question and the way the case has been handled by Cypriot police, medical authorities and state prosecutors," said Alexandra Patsalides, a human rights lawyer with the organisation.

The manner in which the British woman was treated by police and prosecutors "appears to have fallen considerably below international standards," she said.

"There are various complex reasons why a victim of sexual violence may retract their allegation. They might be traumatised and vulnerable, and have a lack of confidence in or fear of the justice process, especially if they have been subjected to prejudicial attitudes and negative gender stereotypes by the investigating authorities."

The Cyprus Womens' Lobby, an advocacy group, called for a wide-ranging review of how the police treat cases of rape and sexual assault.

"The whole process is fraught with problems, not just this case," Eleni Karaoli, a member of the group, told The Telegraph.

"Everything needs to be reviewed, from the first moment a victim approaches the police to how they take statements and how they treat the medical evidence. If that means changing the law, then we need to do that."

There was no information on how many similar cases there may have been in Cyprus. "But we do know there are cases of domestic violence where women who have been beaten by their husbands are told by the police just to go back to them."

Michael Polak, part of the teenager's defence team Credit: EPA/REX

Michael Polak, a British lawyer who is part of the teenager's defence team, told The Telegraph: "We are very disappointed with the decision but we are not surprised given how the trial was conducted.

"The judge said it was not about the rape but about whether she lied. But we say the two are inextricably linked. The rape is an essential element of whether she lied. He did not consider the case properly.

"We say the evidence - including defence witnesses' testimony and the police's failure to secure the crime scene - should have exonerated our client.

"It doesn't finish here. The next stage will be to appeal to the Supreme Court of Cyprus and then, if necessary, to the European Court of Human Rights."

The appeals process could take up to four years, he said.

The handling of the case should prompt Cyprus to make the recording of police station interviews obligatory, Mr Polak said.

The woman's questioning on the night she retracted the rape claim was not recorded because there is no such requirement under current Cypriot law.

"The Cypriot police should ask themselves whether they want a proper justice system or not. We need to know what happens inside police stations when defendants are questioned," said the lawyer.

A spokesperson for the FCO told the Telegraph: "We continue to support a British woman and her family following her arrest in Cyprus. This has been a deeply distressing case. Our staff have visited her a number of times in detention, attended court hearings, and are in regular contact with her legal representatives and the local authorities.

Cop Resigns After Writing 'Pig' Insult On Coffee Cup While Blaming McDonald's Staffs

A Kansas police officer has resigned after falsely accusing McDonald’s workers of writing “fucking pig” on the officer’s coffee cup after writing it himself, officials said.

In a joint news conference Monday (above) with a representative of McDonald’s, Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday called the cup incident a “hoax” and a “black eye” on law enforcement.

McDonald’s had nothing to do “whatsoever” with writing the insult on the cup, he said. “This was completely and solely fabricated by a Herington police officer who is no longer employed with our agency,” Hornaday added.

Hornaday said the actions of the former officer “are in no way reflective of the values or character of the typical Herington police officer.”

The cop, a former military police officer, had been with the department for two months. He was not identified. The claim was intended to be a “joke,” Hornaday said the officer told him.

McDonald’s managers studied video surveillance footage following the incident and determined that an employee was not responsible.

Workers “have the utmost respect for all members of law enforcement and the military, and were troubled by the accusation made,” the owner of the franchise told NBC affiliate KSNT-TV.

17 Year Old Jailed For 16 Years For Encouraging Murdering Of Ex

A teenager has been imprisoned on Friday, December 20, for urging her lover to prove his love to her by killing his ex-girlfriend during a macabre plot 'to prove himself'

Sarah Mohamed, 17, loitered outside the victim's home in Openshaw, Manchester for two hours while she waited for her boyfriend, Rhett Carty-Shaw, also 17, to kill the mother of his child.

As she waited outside, she sent more than 50 text messages to encourage him to carry out the brutal attack in May earlier this year.

One of the messages she sent to her boyfriend while he was inside with the mother of his child reads: "Why you taking so long? Hurry up and do it."

The pair were both jailed for 16 years on December 20, 2019.

Mohamed had first plotted the murder after she discovered that her boyfriend was continuing his relationship with his ex-girlfriend, 17-year-old Imam Nasir.

Manchester Crown Court heard during the trial that she was angered and "felt humiliated". She proceeded to end her relationship with him and said that he had "let her down" and that she "cannot trust him".

But Carty-Shaw was upset about the relationship coming to an end and arranged to meet with Mohamed at lunchtime the day before the attack in an attempt to talk her round.

Just hours after the meeting, Carty-Shaw made Google searches on asphyxiation and "how long do people get sentenced for murder".

The court heard that the boy turned up at the victim's home the following day with a change of clothes along with a large kitchen knife in his bag.

Ms Nasir described how Carty-Shaw had told her that he had to kill her. She said he also asked her whether she would kill herself for him, whether he could kill her and how he should kill her. He told her that he was being pressured to kill her and that people would harm his family if he did not go through with it.

Miss Nasir recalled how at one stage he had asked her to give the appearance of strangulation so that he could take a photograph and send it as fake evidence of her death.

She applied make-up to her neck to fake strangulation and closed her eyes so that he could take a photo but when she opened her eyes she saw him holding a knife.

Miss Nasir tried to call 999 as well as one of her friend's but he prevented her from doing so. She instructed him to leave and tried to push him down the stairs and out of the house into the garden which is when Carty-Shaw became extremely violent.

He inflicted numerous blows that left her with wounds to her face, neck and armpit plus three to her back and she was lucky to escape.

Carty-Shaw left the scene shortly after and made his way to his girlfriend Mohamed who was waiting outside. The pair talked and embraced after returning to Mohamed's home before he left and she returned inside the property.

Carty-Shaw was arrested a short time later while standing at a bus stop close to his co-defendant's address.

It became apparent that he had changed his clothes and trainers and was in possession of two plastic bags which contained an open packet of Dettol wipes, some of which had already been used.

It is thought that they had been purchased in order to clean the large kitchen knife, a green sports bag and his blood stained clothing and trainers.

His accomplice, Mohamed, was arrested soon after and her phone was seized.

Phone analysis showed that she was constantly pressuring the boy, repeatedly texting him instructing him to video what he was doing and send the footage to her video so that she knew that it had been done.

She wrote: "Vid it then delete it when I see it please... Did you get rid of the phone?"

Police also found a message telling Carty-Shaw not to do anything stupid and leave his DNA behind or he would be going to prison.

In one exchange Carty-Shaw wrote "I did it to prove I love you - there was no other way to keep you"

And Miss Mohamed replied: "I know there wasn't -I'm gonna protect you at all costs."

Miss Nasir, who is said to have been lucky not to have been killed in the attack, was taken to hospital where she was treated for serious injuries.

Mohamed has now been jailed for intentionally encouraging or assisting a person to commit murder.

She denied wrong doing claiming she thought Carty-Shaw was simply going to end his relationship with the victim and she wanted him to record the break up on his phone as proof.

Carty-Shaw was originally charged with rape but was found not guilty. But he admitted causing GBH but was convicted of the more serious charge of attempted murder.

Both were sentenced on Friday, December 20, 2019, to 16 years behind bars.

A judge ordered they be named due to the "strong public interest" in the case.

Man Arrested For Shooting And Injuring Twelve Killing Two

A young man suspected of shooting at an off-campus college party in Texas, was arrested Monday.

Brandon Ray Gonzales, 23, of Greenville, Texas, was arrested and taken into custody less than 48 hours after the shooting, Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said.

Gonzales, who was arrested at the auto dealership where he worked, was booked into the Hunt County jail on a charge of capital murder of multiple persons. Bond was set at $1 million.

The shooting happened around midnight Saturday outside Greenville, 15 miles southwest of a satellite campus of the Texas A&M University System.

Authorities believe the shooter may have been targeting just one person at the party of about 750 people, and that others may have been shot at random, Meeks has said.

Kevin Berry Jr. of Dallas and Byron Craven Jr. of Arlington, both 23, were killed, authorities said.

The shooting took place at a Halloween and homecoming party for Texas A&M University-Commerce at a facility called The Party Venue, according to Meeks, though officials said it was not a school-sanctioned event.

Authorities believe the shooter entered the venue, which sits along a highway in a rural area some 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) from the Greenville city limits, through the back door and began firing with a handgun, Meeks said. It was "complete chaos" after the shots rang out, with hundreds of people including the gunman fleeing, the sheriff said.

Of the 12 people injured, six were shot and six were trampled or hurt by glass, authorities said. Five remained in the hospital — one in critical condition and four in good condition — on Monday, Meeks said.

The shooting came as Texas A&M University-Commerce, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) northeast of Dallas, celebrated homecoming weekend.

According to its website, it is the second-largest university in the Texas A&M University System.

After a vigil for Berry on Sunday night at a Dallas park, at least one person opened fire. Dallas police said no one was injured but several vehicles were reported damaged.

Texas A&M University-Commerce had planned to hold a community gathering Monday afternoon featuring student and faith-based leaders along with counselors.

But the school later said that based on conversations with students, the decision was made to postpone the gathering. University officials did not elaborate.

TV Host Found Guilty of Molesting10-Year-Old

A former star of an HGTV home remodeling pilot Christopher Dionne has been guilty of molesting a 10-year-old girl in his Connecticut home.

Dionne was convicted of risk of injury to a minor and fourth degree sexual assault, a New London Superior Court official tells PEOPLE.

He is expected to be released on a $100,000 bond while awaiting sentencing on Dec. 11.

During the trial, Dionne’s victim, now 12, testified that she was best friends with the 37-year-old’s daughter at the time of the assault.

She and Dionne’s daughter were on the same soccer team and had regular sleepovers at each other’s homes.

According to the arrest warrant application obtained by PEOPLE, Dionne’s victim claimed he touched her inappropriately while she was at a birthday sleepover at his house in November 2017 — waking her up around 1:30 a.m. by placing his hand against her buttocks under her pajamas as she laid on her belly. She said he later reached his hand under her bra and jiggled her chest, even allegedly taking a photo of her on his phone.

Dionne molested the girl twice, several hours apart, she said. Dionne’s 14-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter were in the room sleeping while it happened.

During the assault, Dionne asked the 10-year-old if she wanted to see his genitals, asking her, “Are you a big girl or a little girl?” and telling her, “If you tell your mom, I’ll go to jail and (my daughter) won’t have a daddy.”

When she refused his advances, Dionne eventually went back to his room.

This wasn’t the first time Dionne assaulted the girl. A similar incident also happened earlier, in September, and at that time, Dionne asked the girl if she wanted to kiss his genitals.

The friendship between the victim and Dionne’s daughter ended after the assault.

In a statement, A&E said they’d suspended production on a new show they were working on with Dionne, NBC Connecticut reported.

Shame Of Being Raped Led Us To Baby Factories

Three pregnant teenagers among those rescued from baby factories in the Ikotun and Abaranje areas of Lagos said the shame of carrying babies born after rape incidents led them to the state.

The teenagers, Joy, 15, Happiness, 17 and Favour, 17, were part of the 19 pregnant persons and four children rescued recently from baby factories in the communities.

The locations, according to the police, are Adisa Street, Ikotun; Owosho Street, Governor Road, Ikotun; Olugbeyohun Street, Olakunle bus stop, Abaranje; and Anomo Street, Abaranje.

Men from the Isheri Osun Police Station were said to have stormed the buildings on September 19, and arrested two suspects, a “nurse” and “caregiver” while their ringleader, one Oluchi, is still at large.

Narrating the events leading to her stay in the clandestine home, Happiness told City Round that she was gang-raped by three young men at a bar in Awka, Anambra State, where she worked as an attendant.

She stated that her boss gave her concoctions to abort the pregnancy to no avail and sent her back to her village in Agwata .

The teenager said she was ashamed to return to her parents with pregnancy, especially when she could not tell who was responsible for it.

While she was looking for where she could stay till she was delivered of the baby, Happiness, who is now seven months pregnant, said a woman called Mama Dada linked her up with Oluchi.

She said, “Mama Dada brought me to Lagos on August 17. She told me a woman takes care of pregnant women and she assured me that the woman would take care of me. I was raped at a bar by three boys. One of them is called Rich. They ran away.

“On the day I was raped, my friend asked me to drink with them. I told them I don’t take alcohol. They persuaded me and after taking it, I slept off. I woke up and found out they had pulled off my clothes and raped me.

“I told my boss and she informed her husband. They gave me some concoctions to abort the pregnancy, but it didn’t work. My parents are in the village. They are farmers. My mother warned me while I was leaving the village not to come back home with pregnancy.

“I am ashamed of myself. I don’t know who the pregnancy belongs to among the three men. Mama Dada did not tell me the woman (Oluchi) would sell the baby.”

Joy, 15, from Akwa Ibom State, looked tired and depressed. Her pregnancy, which is in the eighth month, outweighs her fragile posture. She appeared dishevelled and could hardly coordinate her thoughts.

“It was a boy called John that impregnated me. He raped me. One aunty brought me to Lagos. I don’t remember her name. They promised to give me N300,000 after I gave birth. Since I got there, I took garri in the morning,” she disclosed, trying to wipe off the sweat on her face.

“I am not happy with this condition. I am too young to be pregnant. I want to go back to school,” she added. She kept mum when asked about her parents.

Favour, a 17-year-old girl from Mbaise in Imo State, explained that she was raped by her cousin, one Emeka, which resulted in the pregnancy, adding that her uncle handed her over to Oluchi.

She said, “It was my cousin who raped me. I went to visit my uncle that day but he was not around. I met only Emeka at home. He started touching me and before I knew it, he dragged me to the floor and raped me. My uncle asked me to follow Madam Oluchi to Lagos because of the shame.”

She claimed that the agreement she had with Oluchi was that the baby would be given out for adoption, adding that she was not aware of the plan to sell the baby.

Another victim, Maureen Gift, 20, from Omagwa, Rivers State, said she agreed to stay with Oluchi in Lagos because her boyfriend rejected the pregnancy and her parents chased her away.

She stated, “My boyfriend was maltreating me. He said he didn’t need the baby. He sent me away and I went back to my parents’ home. I went back to appeal to him. He asked me to go away and threatened to kill me.

“When my mother started mounting pressure on me to leave, I became confused. I met with a midwife who introduced me to her brother in Lagos. The man came to Rivers and we left for Lagos. My plan was that after giving birth, I would find something to do in Lagos. I didn’t know they wanted to sell my baby when I gave birth.”

But a 25-year-old woman, who gave her name only as Kelechi, was fully aware of her mission in Lagos. She had decided to sell her baby for N200,000 upon delivery because her boyfriend denied responsibility for the pregnancy.

Another pregnant woman, Ana Oma from Rivers State, said, “Madam Oluchi promised me N500, 000 if the baby is a boy and N300, 000 if it is a girl. I agreed. But some days after, I started having bad dreams. I told the caregiver living with us to give me money to go back but she ignored me.”

One of the two suspects arrested, Mrs Sherifat Ipaye, a self-acclaimed nurse, denied knowing Oluchi. The secondary school leaver said she was engaged by the caregiver, Mrs Happiness Ukwuoma, claiming that she was not aware the babies were being sold.

She said, “I am a nurse. I learnt it from one of my brothers who has a hospital in Ketu and later I worked at a hospital on Ijegun Road. Madam Happiness called me sometime in July that she had some pregnant women she would bring for me to help deliver of their babies. I said I would collect N20, 000 per delivery but we negotiated and agreed on N15, 000.

“She had brought three women so far. They only spent a day in my house. Once they gave birth, she would come for the mother and the baby, but I don’t know where she took them to. She just gave me money for one job. She still owes me N30, 000. I was handling the fourth one when policemen came and arrested me. I knew what I did is illegal. All I want is forgiveness.”

Ukwuoma, who was in charge of a two-bedroom apartment used for one of the baby factories in Ikotun, said Oluchi placed her on a monthly salary of N20,000, adding that she had handed over three babies to her so far.

She said, “I am from Orlu in Imo State. I am only taking care of the pregnant women at the apartment she (Oluchi) rented in Ikotun. I started working for her in June and she paid me N20, 000 every month. Nine pregnant women were with me when the police came. Since we have been working together, three pregnant women had given birth.

“She took the babies away and paid their mothers. I don’t know how much she gave them. It was through my husband that I knew her. He was a commercial driver and Oluchi once boarded his bus from Imo to Lagos.”

Handing the victims over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bala Elkana, said the command was closing in on the prime suspect and other members of the syndicate.

NAPTIP Zonal Commander in Lagos, Mr Daniel Atokolo, said the victims would be rehabilitated and profiled to get more facts on the case.

He said, “We will profile them to know those behind the trafficking otherwise it will continue to be a vicious circle. Those who have good news for us may not go immediately because we need them in our investigation and at the point of prosecution as witnesses.”

Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo Told Me About His ‘Relationship’ With Busola Dakolo – Ex-COZA staff

Former Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, (COZA) staff has narrated what Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo told her about his relationship with Busola Dakolo.

Ex-COZA staff, who pleaded anonymity in an interview with Y!TV on Thursday, disclosed that Pastor Fatoyinbo had some time in 2018 explained to her that he did not rape Busola but that “something happened between them”.
According to her, “He painted it as they had a thing but he didn’t know she was that young”.
Recall that wife of soul singer, Timi Dakolo, Busola, had alleged that the COZA founder forcefully raped her when she was young.
Fatoyinbo, who denied the allegation, however admitted that Busola once attended the same church with his family.
The clergyman consequently ordered his lawyers to institute both criminal and civil cases against Busola.
The ex-COZA staff has now come out to say: “In early 2018, Timi made a post about an Abuja pastor sexually assaulting young girls I didn’t see the post because I was not following him but at that time I received a call from a worker telling me Pastor Biodun needs my number because I’ve not talked to him for months after the rape incident.
“I didn’t tell her anything that happened so she was just asking, he called me from Colorado again apologizing about the rape incident ‘I know you are angry with me but I’m sorry’ we went form that convo to talking about work.
“As soon as the call was over I heard about Timi, so I realized Pastor Biodun called me to take care of loose ends, this made me realize I had to exit being a staff and go far away from the church.
“We had no contact until I sent a message on Instagram to him as my boss that I wanted to leave, he asked to give him time because he wanted to tell his wife about it.
” A month after I came to Nigeria, he asked for a meeting so I met him at the basement in a room he was sitting on the couch. the first thing he said was put your phone away, he started apologising all over again thinking of how much he has wronged me and was in tears.
“At this time Timi had made the post, they had this back and forth thing when they were trying to get to Timi.
“Then he started telling me out of the blue that he didn’t rape Busola Dakolo, he knew her in Ilorin when he was not married and she was just a girl who used to come around him a lot but then something happened.
“He painted it as they had a thing but didn’t know she was that young. He brought it up when I didn’t ask so I saw this as emotional blackmail.
“If there’s anything he does he is very good at studying you and seeing how your mind works. I think that was his attempt for me to see him as someone that cannot rape anyone. He appeals to your emotions and finds a common ground.”
She, however, added that she could not record the conversation because she didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention to herself.
“The last time I saw Pastor Biodun before I left the church he asked if there was anything I wants him to do for me but I gave him a negative answer and that was our last conversation.
“Recording the conversation didn’t cross my mind because all I wanted was just to get out from there because it is a large environment and I wanted to leave peacefully.
“They created an atmosphere of insecurity that stops people from speaking out, telling an average person that Pastor Biodun Fatoyibo raped you is hard, though I want to be the girl that is bold but there was just too much to contend with, especially church folks who would rather believe a pastor who cannot keep it in his pants than a member because they don’t want to question anything but look the other way .
“There are a lot of people who are victims, I’m sure because after I saw Timi’s post I realised this is a real thing not just with adults but teenagers as well.”
