Calf Born With Third Eye Worshipped In India (Photos, Video)

An Indian calf is being worshipped as the reincarnation of the Hindu god Shiva, after it was born with a third eye in the middle of its forehead.

“This calf is born with the third eye, so we believe Shiva, a god who has three eyes, has been born here,” Sharmila, a villager, said. “That's why we have come here to see the calf and take his blessing.”

The animal, born two weeks ago, has been hailed as a blessing by Hindus. The calf’s proud owner, Rajesh, described baby Shiva as a miracle.

“This is a miracle calf, so we are worshipping and praying to it like a god,” Rajesh said. “We believe if we worship this calf it will give good luck for us and the people around us.'”

Baby Shiva has now become a major attraction in the village of Kolathur in Tamil Nadu, located in southern India, with hundreds of devout Hindus and tourists arriving to catch a glimpse of the “deity.”

Some Hindu children have begun to touch the calf on its head, since the practice is believed to bring good fortune.

In Hinduism, Shiva is one of the primary gods. Shiva is also known as a patron of yoga and arts. Shiva can be recognized by a third eye, which emits fire if the god is angered.
