Man Murdered Wife With Matchete

In the town of Kaiama in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was thrown into mourning in the early hours of Sunday, as a man known as Edwin Vincent, aged 24, allegedly brutally murdered his wife, Joy Michael with a machete.

It has not been visible as to why the man who is a native of Uwheru in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State murdered his 21-year-old wife.

The community sources told Vanguard that the deceased was allegedly attacked in the forest, where she went on a fishing trip.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incident.

His words: “On November 5, at about 8:30a.m., one Edwin Vincent, aged 24, a native of Uwheru in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, but residing at Boro Camp, Kaiama in Bayelsa State, attacked and killed his wife, one Joy Michael, aged 21.

“The deceased, Joy Michael, went fishing in a nearby river with her neighbour, one Juliet Philip (female), when the husband attacked and killed her with a machete.

“The suspect has since been arrested and he has confessed to the crime. Investigation is on to ascertain the motive behind the murder.”
