29 Arrested For Illegal Activities

Twenty-nine Benin Nationals, including a woman, were arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos for dealing in petroleum products without licenses.

However, the bail was refused and remanded in prison as the case is being adjourned.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had arraigned them for dealing in petroleum products in Nigeria without licenses.

The accused are Blessing David (a woman), Attau Abel, Sunday Odepo, Francis Agba, Peter Honfo, Batoromi Digi, Noel Megbe, Jerome Ilewagbemi, Kankor Bidemi, Amuse Awatu, and Isaac Torwuloten.

Others are Martins Aviwe, Kojo Cheji, Edumor Rofo, Koko Rofor, Jimoh Megba, Jockten Tomatu, Ado Leon, James Oke, Dominic Nwagu, and Ado Rafino.

When the case came up on Tuesday, Justice Hadiza Rabiu-Shagari, asked if all the accused understood the English Language, but only the woman answered in the affirmative, while others said they understand only “Egun” language.
